Uhhh ... Halloween?!
lenachen:
So in the midst of midterms, I somehow forgot that this Saturday is the biggest party night of the year. Or so it’s being made out to be. Has Halloween always been such a big deal or is it only a big deal now because most of my friends (unlike me) have graduated and have grown-up plans for the holiday?
Hm. In any case, I currently have no costume, no dogsitter, no pre-game plan, no...

Social media
I am soooo into social media. And by “into” I mean “being devoured by.” Let’s recap:
I used SFTP to connect Blogger to to my college’s servers, thus allowing future editors to use the Blogger interface when creating content for a part of the student council website.
Twitter decided to ask me to test a random new feature I have no current use for. Seeing as I...
high school plz?
superspazz:
The longer I’m in college, the more I want to go back to high school. I want so badly to pretend and say that I love it, but I really don’t. And honestly, a LOT of it has to do with the fact that I’m commuting. I don’t know anyone because I’m never here, I don’t get the opportunity to be with people. My whole demeanour during the day is different - I’m quiet, I’m lonely, I’m most...

FUCKING NECESSARY.
I’ve never been this screwed in my life.
You can, you can. Turn off the wifi and get to work, dude. :D
I heart Windows 7
Time breakdown:
An hour and a half backing up music, photos, and documents
30 minutes downloading the ISO
15 minutes putting the ISO on a newly bootable USB stick
45 minutes installing (!!!)
An hour customizing, updating, and installing drivers
For a total of 4 hours transition time. Which is pretty sweet, considering I was able to do homework during 70% of the process.
So, how is it?

I had half an hour free tonight during which I didn’t want to go back to my room. So I went to the Rock[efeller Library at Brown] and explored the whole place, bottom to top. Discovery of the day: floor 3 desk 66 appears to have no occupant, a good chair, and a great view of downtown. It will also be sunny in the afternoon.
I’m moving my homework and study time there starting tomorrow...

Ohai Kiley! This is how tumblr makes comments… you “reblog” the post and do your own thing. I miss you!!!
Forcing myself to be social
I quit the play, Leavittsburg, Ohio, which is a good play (you should see it when it opens in November) but which wasn’t working with either my expectations or needs. Theater in high school was more fun-oriented than art-oriented. I don’t want to be a theater person, I just wanted to be in the theater community; too bad community here is closer to a professional association.
So I am...

Today I came across a senior from my high school who was touring Brown. Her dad knows mine, so we chatted for a bit on the street.
She said, “Don’t you love it here.” I lied.

On a scale from 1 to 10, How awkward is it to wake...
the405:
REALLY FUCKING AWKARD is how awkward it is.
I got really uncomfortable and just grabbed my pillow and my iPod and peaced, slept in the kitchen. The kitchen is mad cold. I had no socks, and a short sleeve shirt. I was fucking cold.
That’s not awkward, that’s uncool. Or a really poorly executed invitation…
I’m lucky I don’t have roommate issues like that.

My roommate skipped class this morning, and last night I had a prospective student stay over, as I will tonight.
When do I get alone time, please?

Here I am, on the top floor of the Friedman study center in the Sciences Library. From here, I can see onto the sciences quad on a pretty October day. The sky is bright blue and the trees are faintly yellow. There are people lying on the grass below, and more walking by.
My classes have been great, and this past weekend was just as good. Eddo came down and chilled with a friend and me.

Bank Of America is the most garbage bank of all...

Why? Yes, they give you basically 0 interest, but they really are everywhere you need them to be. And their online banking owns.
My tumblarity is 3. Maybe this is a good thing?
Another weekend night, alone in my room. There is nothing to do at this school on weekends except get drunk with strangers. So I choose to do nothing, and it sucks.
I fit in here academically. My classes are amazing, and I love my professors. I even like my hallmates, when they’re around. But on the weekends, they’re not here, and my lunch and dinner friends are off partying (drinking...
