I emailed my favorite author yesterday, using the address given on her website. She emailed me back today.
And gave me her phone number.

Having used iTunes 9’s “Home Sharing” feature, I finally have my full music collection on the netbook. And I file-transferred and imported the old playlists, mostly mixtapes I assembled for friends.
The first one I decided to play is the one I made for Eddo before we were going out. (Before I knew he dislikes rap, too.)
Though he never much liked it, I really did. I took it...

Real Time with Bill Maher (and Sam Harris)
Bill Maher: How did you get to that place? Because most people are raised religiously. How did you get to where you are, and what advice would you give to kids today who wanna break into atheism?
Sam Harris: Well, I started there, and that's kind of the point.
Bill Maher: You did?
Sam Harris: Yeah, unless you're indoctrinated at some point early on -- it's kind of like smoking -- you tend not to pick it up later in life.
Bill Maher: As a child, you were an atheist?
Sam Harris: Atheism has no content. Being an atheist is like being a non-astrologer. No one gets taught to be a non-astrologer. You just don't get convinced by astrology.

Why is food policy so interesting?
I am on Food Politics, and it makes me want to reread The Omnivore’s Dilemma and Fast Food Nation. Next? Safe Food, and then I have to read something else. It’s bad to be single-minded.
Random Thought: Actually Vampire Weekend, I do...

Also, horchata sounds like it’s gross.
HORCHATA IS AMAZING. MY FAVORITE BEVERAGE.
Only get it at legit really Mexican-seeming places.
Eddo is already back in Cambridge, ready to start IAP, during which he will learn to program. We played a few rounds of chess last night (which I lost), and then I left and I won’t see him again until just before February, if I’m lucky. This is thanks to my parents’ refusal to let me fly into Logan and take the train down to PVD.
Books I have read so far on vacation:
