The top-visited websites on my computer lately have been wedding dress designers and real estate search engines. I am neither getting married nor buying a home in the next few years, never mind months. What is wrong with me!?
I went to Whole Foods because I wanted better baking yeast than what they sell at Von’s/Fresh & Easy.
They didn’t have bulk yeast, for some reason. Yet you can buy organic amaranth flour there.
Curious, I took my receipt for yeast, butter, and sugar and went to Fresh & Easy, which is right near my house.

I wonder about the cost-effectiveness of a lot of types of cooking. While it’s obviously cheaper to make dinner for two than to go out, is it really cheaper to make your own pasta vs. buying it?

Chicken Pot Pie →
In continuation with my new Wednesday night tradition of cooking a nice big meal, I made pot pie last night. I love pot pie, especially the frozen Marie Calender’s stuff. Mmm. But I know that that’s bad for me and it’s sorta expensive. At least if I make it myself, the bad-for-me is partly mitigated by gains in kitchen experience and a sense of accomplishment.
