From my seat here in the Humanities Wing at the Pasadena Public Library, I look out at the shelf facing me. On one shelf sits Who’s Who In Espionage, directly above all four volumes of Butler’s Lives of the Saints. Earlier today the crazy who thinks aloud in a gruff, gravely voice was in the Reference Wing. He keeps his little DVD player with him and watches something mysterious. He wears white socks and sandals.
