Finance

Today, since I’m 18!, I got myself my own checking and savings account. Had I ordered checks, only my name would appear on them. But this is the 21st century, kids, and I didn’t get checks. I have two debit cards—One with the L.A. Dodger logo and one with some sort of link to Habitat for Humanity

Have been listening to the Postal Service and related bands on last.fm a lot. I need chill.

Tonight I went to Lauren’s jazz trio gig in Culver City. My friends are making culture! Wow! There I saw two guys from my 8th grade graduating class—one who went on to be a golfer and valedictorian at his Catholic boys’ school, the other who repeated 11th grade at boarding school. In Maine.

Lastly for today, I have 40 pages remaining in The Pillars of the Earth, Ken Follett’s really really great 1000-page epic novel. It took six reading days to get through. Have I started my 200 lines of Catullus? Of course not.

And my weekend summary:

  1. Friday — Hijinks at Eddo’s with Kilizzle, Jer, Larkino, and Rakel.
  2. Saturday — House party with Eddo’s family and their family friends.
  3. Sunday — Eddo’s family came to my house whereby I presented Eddo with both a 4x4 and a 5x5 Rubix cube, an MIT Beavers t-shirt, and a Nightmare Before Christmas cover CD. I gave his little aspiring nerd brother K a normal Rubix cube.

I am such a good girlfriend.
